Kothagudem: Members of the Manuguru Press Club staged a protest rally on Saturday demanding the withdrawal of a police case filed against T News Khammam reporter V Sambasiva Rao and two others.
The rally, which began at Ambedkar Centre, culminated at Manuguru police station where journalists submitted a memorandum seeking immediate action. Several journalists, including Raparthi Srihari, Pindiga Venkat, Maruti Srinivas, Sabir Pasha, Erelli Kishore, M. Bhasker, Pujari Chandu, Ramesh, Shaym, Naresh, Ramana Murthy, V Krishnamohan, P Krishna, Prasad, Ravi Kiran, Ram Reddy, Papa Rao, and Venkateswarlu, participated in the protest.
Meanwhile, in Khammam, Rajya Sabha MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra visited Sambasiva Rao’s family and extended his solidarity. He also telephoned BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, who spoke with Rao’s wife Sridevi and assured her that the party would stand firmly by the family.
