Manuguru SI booked by ACB for demanding Rs 40,000 bribe
The ACB has booked Manuguru police Sub-Inspector Bathini Rajith for demanding a bribe of Rs 40,000 for issuing station bail to a complainant and his brother. He was arrested based on electronic evidence and will be produced before the court

Kothagudem: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case of criminal misconduct against the Manuguru police station Sub-Inspector of Police, Bathini Rajith.
He was accused of demanding Rs 40,000 from the complainant for issuing station bail to the complainant and his brother. An FIR was registered against them under Sections 318 (4) (cheating), 296 (uttering obscene words or songs) read with 3(5) of the BNS in crime number 229/2025.
Though Rajith did not receive the money, he made a demand for the bribe and was taken into custody based on electronic evidence, including audio and video clippings. He will be produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Warangal, as informed by Karimnagar range DSP, Vijay Kumar.
