Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) was recently awarded a plaque by the Society to Save Rocks, Hyderabad, for planning the development of the campus with the protection of many ancient granite formations in mind and for taking special care of the ‘Pathar Dil’ heritage rock by highlighting its stunning form through night-time illumination.
MANUU vice chancellor, Professor Syed Ainul Hasan received the award which was presented by professor Fatima Ali Khan, president and Frauke Quader, secretary, Society to Save Rocks.
Speaking on the occasion, professor Ainul Hassan lauded the efforts of the Society to conserve heritage rock formations in and around Hyderabad and to create awareness about it among the public. He also expressed interest to host a photo exhibition and workshop by the Society in collaboration with the HKS Centre for Deccan Studies of the MANUU.
