Kothagudem: A member of the proscribed CPI (Maoist) militia from Rekhapalli village of Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh was arrested in Cherla mandal in the district.
The militia member, Madivi Ramesh, was held by a team of police engaged during a vehicle-checking drive at Danavaigudem on Saturday evening. He dropped Maoist pamphlets on a road between Nimmalagudem and Kurnapally villages in the wake of Maoist Martyrs Memorial Week on the directions of the Maoist Usur area committee secretary Ganga, according to the police.
Police seized the motorcycle he was riding along with 10 naxal-related pamphlets. A case was registered against him and he was produced before the court on Sunday for judicial custody.
