Mulug: Maoists allegedly kidnapped Kursa Ramesh, a former sarpanch of Suraveedu gram panchayat in Venkatapur mandal in the district on Monday evening while he was on his way to Cherla in Kothagudem district.

Some people who witnessed the abduction informed Ramesh’s family about it. The former sarpanch’s wife Kursa Rajitha speaking to the media persons on Tuesday appealed to the Maoists to free her husband unharmed.
