Marco star’s next chapter: Unni Mukundan steps behind the camera

Hyderabad: Malayalam star Unni Mukundan is all set to turn director. After winning hearts with his roles as a chocolate boy, a powerful villain, and most recently as the fierce Marco, the actor is now stepping into a new phase of his dream—filmmaking.
Unni made the big announcement on his Instagram, revealing that his first film as a director will be a superhero story. “The kid in me grew up believing in legends,” he wrote in an emotional note. “Drawn to stories of courage, sacrifice, and magic, I found my heroes not just in books, movies, and folk tales, but even in my dreams.”

The actor shared that superheroes were always his biggest source of hope and that their heroic acts shaped his own dreams. “That kid never really grew up. And more importantly, he never gave up dreaming,” he wrote. “Today, he takes a quiet, proud step forward to tell a story he has carried in his heart for years.”
The yet-to-be-titled superhero film will be produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies. V C Praveen and Baiju Gopalan will be the co-producers, with Krishnettan as the executive producer. The script is written by Maverick Midhun Manuel Thomas.
