Marijuana worth Rs 26 lakh seized at Secunderabad railway station
According to the GRP and RPF officials, while conducting regular checking on the railway station platforms, they found four luggage bags abandoned beside a food stall on Platform No.7, towards the Kazipet end side.
Hyderabad: The Secunderabad Government Railway Police (GRP) along with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials during a regular checking have seized 52 kgs of marijuana worth Rs 26 lakh from the luggage which was abandoned in the Secunderabad railway station on Wednesday night.
According to the GRP and RPF officials, while conducting regular checking on the railway station platforms, they found four luggage bags abandoned beside a food stall on Platform No.7, towards the Kazipet end side.
“We have enquired with the rail passengers who were available in the vicinity, shopkeepers and hawkers about the bags, but there was no clarity. When we opened them to check, the contraband substance was found wrapped in brown plaster and stuffed in them,” said a railway police official.
The unclaimed bags with the drugs were seized and efforts are on to identify and nab their owners.
