Markapuram bus accident: Passenger from Nirmal escaped with minor injuries

A passenger from Nirmal, Ramu, survived the Rayavaram bus accident in Andhra Pradesh with minor injuries, but lost Rs 5 lakh carried during the journey. Three other passengers’ conditions remain unknown, with investigations ongoing

Nirmal:  A passenger from the district, who along with three others boarded the ill-fated private bus which met with an accident at Rayavaram in Markapuram district of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday morning, escaped with minor injuries. However, he lost Rs 5 lakh in the mishap.

Family members said that Ramu, a resident of Nirmal town and one of the four passengers, sustained minor injuries in the accident.  He is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Markapuram. The condition of the remaining three, identified as Kumari and two others, is yet to be known. Their tickets were booked by one Gourav, son of Ramu.


Gourav claimed that Rs 5 lakh, being carried by his father went missing following the mishap. Hailing from Andhra Pradesh, Ramu had migrated to Nirmal town in search of livelihood some 50 years back. Further details are awaited.
