Nirmal: An assistant director of the Marketing department was arrested by sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau allegedly while accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000 from an applicant in Nirmal town on Wednesday.
In-charge Adilabad ACB DSP VV Ramana Murthy said Nirmal district marketing AD T Srinivas was apprehended while collecting the bribe from Kummari Venkatesh, an applicant to weigh-man (Dadval) license for him.
Srinivas reportedly harassed the applicant demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 for doing an official favor. He agreed to accept Rs 7,000 when Venkatesh expressed his inability to pay the bribe.
Vexed by this, the applicant approached the ACB who in turn laid a trap and arrested him.
