Hyderabad: A transgender woman died, allegedly by suicide, in her house in Meerpet on Monday.
According to the police, the victim, identified as Swapna (25), had a love marriage with one Nishanth, an automobile mechanic four months ago. The couple initially lived happily but eventually started having arguments.
Police said after one such argument, Nishanth left the house and went to stay with his parents at his native place in Nalgonda district.
Following this, Swapna approached the Nalgonda police and lodged a complaint against him. The couple was then counselled too.
However, Nishanth was reluctant to return to her, which reportedly upset Swapna, who died by suicide by hanging in the house. No suicide note was found. The Meerpet police are investigating.
