Khammam: A mass ‘Aksharabhyasam’ ceremony that marks a child’s formal introduction to learning was held at Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalayam here on Friday.
More than 100 children accompanied by their parents participated in the auspicious ceremony held on the occasion of ‘Vasanta Panchami’. Members of Krishna Sai Trust, Vasavi Club, and Lions Club attended the event and extended their support while Lagadapati Rama Rao distributed prasadam to all the participants.
School committee members, academic committee members, teachers, non-teaching staff, and alumni participated in the programme and contributed to its success with their services.
Organising such mass initiation into learning was a continuing tradition in the Shishumandir schools run under the aegis of Sri Saraswati Vidyapeetham, with the aim of fostering Indian educational and cultural values in children, said the school principal Santhosha Goutham.
This mass initiation ceremony, conducted in a spiritual atmosphere reflecting Indian educational traditions, marked an auspicious beginning to the educational journey of young children, he added.
