Massive blaze erupts at Balapur scrap yard, no casualties reported
A fire broke out at a scrapyard in Balapur, gutting property worth several lakhs. Fire officials suspect a short circuit as the cause. Four fire engines controlled the blaze after three hours of firefighting. No casualties were reported.

Hyderabad: Property worth several lakhs was gutted down when fire broke out at a scrapyard at Balapur on Sunday afternoon. No casualties were reported in the incident.
According to the Fire Station Fire Officer Chandrayangutta, K Bhikshapathi, the fire station received a call around 12.30 pm, about a fire at a scrap godown at Royal Colony, Balapur, and fire tenders reached the spot within ten minutes.
“On reaching the spot, we noticed a huge fire and started firefighting operations. Additional fire tenders were sought for assistance, and in all four vehicles battled the fire for around three hours and brought it under control,” said K Bhikshapathi.
The fire officials suspect the fire started following a short circuit in the scrap yard. However, the exact cause is being ascertained.
