Hyderabad: The alleged mastermind of the Telugu Akademi fraud, Mastan Vali Sahab, tried to dupe the Telangana State Warehouse Corporation of Rs 3.98 crore last year.
Mastan Vali had reportedly attempted to transfer the amount to different bank accounts using false FD’s and letters. However, the bank officials noticed the discrepancies and did not transfer the amount.
The manager of the Union Bank of India, Karwan, Girish Kumar made a complaint at the Hyderabad CCS last week following which a case was booked against Mastan Vali under Sections 468, 471 r/w 34 of IPC. The police are investigating others who could have been hand in glove with Mastan Vali in the case.
The police obtained a PT warrant from the court and after taking him into custody from Central Prison Chanchalguda produced him before the court.
