Mayor Gundu Sudharani inaugurating the diagnostic centre
Warangal Urban: Mayor Gundu Sudharani inaugurated a diagnostic centre set up the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) office premises at Subedari here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, she said that the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) was rendering an invaluable service to society and appreciated the managing committee for their efforts to provide diagnostic services to the poor and needy. IRCS State managing committee member EV Srinivas Rao said that nearly 25 blood tests including kidney and liver function, lipid profile and others will be taken up at rates that are 50 per cent less than the market price for the benefit of poor. “Former MP Garikapati Mohan Rao donated the Biochemistry Analyser worth about Rs seven lakhs from his MPLADs,” Srinivas Rao said.
Chairman of IRCS, Warangal Urban, Dr Pesaru Vijaychander Reddy said that 15 oxygen concentrators donated by philanthropists had come in handy at a time when Covid patients were dying for lack of oxygen.
Sudharani also appreciated the services of Indian Red Cross Society for Thalassemia patients by providing blood when they were in need. The poor were getting medicines at cheaper rates through generic medical shops, she added. She commended the generosity of NRIs and members of the Telangana American Telugu Association (TATA) Dr Sunitha and Dr Divakar Jandyam for donating over 100 pulse oximeters. Free meals packets have been distributed to several municipal sanitation workers on the occasion.
Later, she planted a sapling on the premises of the IRCS compound. IMA President Dr P Sudheep, TANA President Dr P Praveen, Governing Body Members of IRCS Dr Vijaya Lakshmi, MGMH former RMO Dr Shiva Kumar, IRCS medical officers, and staff participated in the programme.
