Medak: A boy and his sister, who took ill after eating chicken cooked by their mother at home, died within a gap of two weeks at Manoharabad in Medak district.
The deceased were identified as Potharaju Lakshmi Priya (11) and her younger brother Kishore (8). According to Manoharabad Police, Lakshmi Priya and Kishore, children of Ramu and Anitha, consumed chicken curry made by their mother on December 22. When they took ill, Anitha rushed them to a hospital where the doctors recommended that they be shifted to Niloufer Hospital. Kishore died at Niloufer Hospital on December 27 while Priya died on Monday (January 10) while undergoing treatment at the same hospital. Since their father Ramu also died a year ago due to prolonged illness, Anitha has become the lone survivor in the family. The police have registered a case.
