Medak Collector helps farmers clean paddy
Rahul Raj saw the farmers cleaning the paddy on a cleaner at the procurement centre. He then picked up a basket and filled it with the paddy with a shovel. While the farmers were watching, the Collector carried the basket to the cleaner and poured the grains on it to examine how it works.
Medak: Medak Collector Rahul Raj on Thursday helped farmers clean their paddy on paddy cleaners during an inspection to a paddy procurement centre at Pathur near Medak.
Rahul Raj saw the farmers cleaning the paddy on a cleaner at the procurement centre. He then picked up a basket and filled it with the paddy with a shovel. While the farmers were watching, the Collector carried the basket to the cleaner and poured the grains on it to examine how it works. He repeated it a few times while interacting with the farmers. Additional collector Menchu Nagesh, DRDO PD Srinivas Rao and others also followed the collector.
Talking to the farmers, Rahul Raj suggested the farmers to clean the paddy and maintain 17 per cent moisture to get the MSP. He called upon the farmers to sell their produce at procurement centres and advised them against approaching middlemen.
