Medak court sentences man to 20 years for rape of minor
A Medak court sentenced Thalari Mohan to 20 years’ imprisonment for raping an eight-year-old girl in 2020. The court ordered Rs 3 lakh compensation for the victim’s family

Medak: A Medak court on Monday convicted a man for raping a minor and sentenced him to 20 years’ imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 5,000. The court also directed the District Legal Services Authority to pay Rs 3 lakh compensation to the victim’s family to help her overcome the trauma.
According to Medak police, the convict, Thalari Mohan, a resident of a village in Pedda Shankarampet mandal, raped an eight-year-old girl from the same village in 2020. Following a complaint by the victim’s parents, police registered a case.
After hearing the arguments, Fast-Track POCSO Court Judge G Neelima pronounced the verdict.
