Medak: Electric fencing laid to prevent the entry of wild boars into the paddy fields claimed the life of yet another farmer at Yaswantharaopet village in Veldurthi mandal. During the last three days, two farmers died in the village when they accidentally touched the electric fences in their agriculture fields.
On Monday, farmer Rasapally Kishan (58) went to his paddy field to switch off the power supply to the electric fence. When he failed to return home, his son went in search of him and found his father dead. Last Saturday, another farmer Gundeni Yadaiah (45) died in the same way. Since Yaswantharaopet village is located close to a forest area, most of the farmers have laid electric fencing around their agriculture fields to prevent the entry of the wild boars, whose population has increased manifold.
These incidents raised the concern over farmers using unsafe measures to contain the wild boar menace.
