Medak farmer dies after lightning strikes near Daripally village
A 54-year-old farmer from Veldurthi died after being struck by lightning on the outskirts of Daripally village in Medak district on Saturday. The incident occurred when he took shelter under a tree during rain and thunderstorms while repairing an agricultural borewell.

Medak: Lightning struck a farmer, leading to his instant death on the outskirts of Daripally village in Chinna Shankarampet mandal on Saturday.
The farmer, Panuganti Maisaiah (54), a resident of Veldurthi, had taken up repair works on an agricultural borewell when the area witnessed rain coupled with thunderstorms. He took shelter under a tree when a thunderbolt struck him.
He died on the spot. The police registered a case.
