Medak: Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration (CMDA) N Satyanarayana has suspended Municipal Commissioner Narsapur Ashrit Kumar holding him responsible for the mass killing of street dogs.

Satyanarayana also ordered an inquiry into the incident by Additonal Collector (Local bodies) Prathima Singh. She has been asked to submit a report to him on the entire episode.

Following a complaint lodged by People for Animals, an NGO, the officials reportedly removed carcasses of 500 dogs buried under a heap of waste at a dump yard in Medak on Wednesday. The dogs were reportedly poisoned to death.
