Hyderabad: Family members of a 43-year-old Nanta Divakar Reddy, a resident of Govardhanagiri, Medak, who was declared brain dead, have donated his organs to needy patients under state-run Jeevandan initiative.

On July 19, Divakar Reddy, working as a hostel warden at Narayana Junior College, Bachupally, while travelling on his two-wheeler, was hit by another two-wheeler. In the accident, he sustained grievous injuries and was shifted to a private hospital. Despite ICU treatment, his condition of Divakar Reddy did not improve and on July 21, the doctors declared him as brain dead.

The warden’s wife, Nanta Vijaya made the decision to donate his kidneys and liver helping three patients in need.
