Medak POCSO Court sentences man to 20 years in minor rape case
A Fast Track POCSO Court in Medak sentenced a 22-year-old man to 20 years' imprisonment for abducting and sexually exploiting a minor girl. The court also imposed a Rs 20,000 fine and directed the government to pay Rs 1 lakh compensation to the victim.

Medak: District Fast Track POCSO Court convicted a man and sentenced him to 20 years’ imprisonment in a minor rape case besides imposing a fine of Rs 20,000 on Wednesday. The convict, Akthar (22), who used to run a pan shop under the Narsingi police station limits, had abducted a 15-year-old girl and sexually exploited her.
Following a case filed by the victim’s parents in April 2024, the police arrested Akthar and produced him before the POCSO Court. Judge RM Subhavali pronounced the verdict on Wednesday after hearing arguments from both sides.
The court also directed the government to pay Rs 1 lakh as compensation to the victim. SP DV Srinivas Rao appreciated the police personnel and public prosecutors for their efforts in bringing the accused to justice.
