Medak police seize Rs. 30 lakh cash from couple lacking documents proving source

Police in Medak seized Rs 30.60 lakh from a couple travelling on a two-wheeler at Makkarajipet after they failed to provide documents for the cash. The amount was handed over to election authorities, and a case was registered at the local police station

Medak: Police seized Rs.30.60 lakh in cash from a couple travelling on a two-wheeler at Makkarajipet in Chegunta mandal on Tuesday. The couple, Gundelli Srisha and Yadagiri, are residents of Dacharam in Gajwel mandal. The flying squad intercepted them and seized the amount since they were carrying no documents to prove its source.

Officials handed over the cash to election authorities after registering a case at the local police station. SP DV Srinivas Rao said stern action would be taken against anyone attempting to influence voters through cash, liquor or any other inducement.
