Medak: An RTC bus driver, allegedly driving in a reckless manner, ran over a flock of goats and sheep on the Medak–Narsapur road near Kulcharam on Monday, leaving 15 animals dead and several others injured.
The incident occurred when a group of farmers from Mahabubnagar district was moving along the roadside, while the RTC bus heading towards Medak from Narsapur ran over the animals. Following the accident, the driver abandoned the bus at the spot and fled.
The carcasses and injured animals scattered across the busy road caused a traffic jam for some time. Kulcharam police reached the scene, cleared the carcasses, and restored the traffic flow.
The farmers were inconsolable as they suffered heavy losses. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
