Medak: Ryots stage protest day after farmer commits suicide at Ambajipet
Farmers staged a rasta-roko protest at Ambajipet procurement centre in Medak district over delays in paddy procurement. The protest came a day after a 45-year-old farmer died by suicide, with farmers blaming the government for prolonged procurement and transport issues.
Medak: Farmers, who brought paddy to Ambajipet procurement centre, have staged a rasta-roko protesting over the delay in procuring the paddy.
A day after the farmer Rajaiah (45) committed suicide unable to sell his paddy at the same procurement centre, the farmers staged rasta-roko holding the government repsonsible for his suicide.
The farmers said that they brought paddy to the centre a month ago, but they could not sell them until today due to lack of transportation. The farmers have demanded the government to speed up the procurement even after the suicide of the Rajaiah.
