Medak: YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) president YS Sharmila launched her “Rythu Avedhana Yatra” from Medak distinct on Sunday.
She met the family members of three farmers who committed suicide in Lingampally and Kanchanpally villages of Kowdipally Mandal. She met the wife and children of 25-year-old Gundla Srikanth who committed suicide at Kanchanpally village. Later, she visited the home of another farmer Mahesh in the same village before proceeding to Lingapur where she consoled the family members of SK Sheik.
Sharmila said many farmers were committing suicide since they lack of clarity on paddy cultivation. She demanded Rs 25 lakh ex gratia for the families of those who ended their lives.
