Medak: Hours after her husband committed suicide, a woman jumped off a two-storey building in Narsapur town of Medak district on Sunday. The victim, who fractured her both legs, is battling for life at a hospital in Hyderabad.

According to Narsapur police, Rama Rao (43), who was working as a teacher at a government school at Chinna Gottimukkala village of Shivvampet Mandal, was living in a rented house at Sriram Nagar Colony in Narsapur town along with his wife Chinna Ammulu (37), children Dhanush (7) and Pujasri (1).

Rama Rao is a native of Akulapet village of Chipurupally Mandal in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. Since Saturday and Sunday were holidays for school, Rama Rao left for Vizianagaram on Saturday morning. However, he had committed suicide by jumping before a moving train at Secunderabad Railway Station on Saturday night.

After coming to know about her husband’s suicide, Chinna Ammulu jumped off from second floor of her rented building. She was rushed to a private hospital after providing first aid. Her condition is stated to be critical. Her relatives said family disputes reportedly drove Rama Rao to take the extreme step. Narsapur police registered a case.
