Medchal-Malkajgiri Collector assures review of 22A prohibited properties

The Medchal-Malkajgiri district collector assured property owners and resident welfare associations that genuine properties wrongly listed under the 22-A prohibited category would be reviewed and removed within two days.

Hyderabad: Medchal-Malkajgiri district collector Mikkilineni Manu Choudary has assured property owners that survey numbers backed by representations and supporting documents would be examined within two days for removal from the 22-A prohibited properties list.

The assurance followed representations from a delegation of United Federation of Resident Welfare Associations (Uferwas), other resident welfare associations and property owners.

Malkajgiri BRS MLA Marri Rajasekhara Reddy accompanied the delegation. The property owners submitted title and link documents for properties in Seetaram Nagar Colony, Balaram Nagar Colony, Adarsh Nagar Colony, Mallikarjuna Nagar, Kakatiya Nagar, Defence Colony, Jupalli Homes Gated Community, RK Puram Asha Officers Colony, East Anandbagh-Srinagar Colony and Alwal-Sridham Colony.

Uferwas general secretary BT Srinivasan said the collector had assured the delegation that appropriate action would be taken within two days. He said Supreme Court judgments protected ownership rights where individual owners could establish ownership through valid title-link documents and the government had not taken possession under ULC proceedings.

The delegation highlighted long-standing title records relating to Asha Officers Colony, Defence Colony and Survey Nos. 109 and 111 in Seetaram Nagar Colony. Residents said removing genuine private properties from the list would allow thousands of legitimate owners to exercise their property rights without further hardship.
