Karimnagar: Members of the Telangana Medical and Sales Representatives Union (TMSRU) staged a protest at the Collectorate office on Monday opposing the new labour laws introduced by the Union government.
Union representatives gathered at the Collectorate and raised slogans against the Centre for replacing 29 existing labour laws with four new labour codes. They criticised the government for making sweeping changes without consulting labour unions and demanded that the old laws be restored by scrapping the new ones.
The protesters also urged the government to revive the Sales Promotion Employees Act (SPE Act) 1976 and ensure a legitimate working system for medical and sales representatives.
