Mancherial: A medical camp organized by the town’s Dr M Phani Kumar and Dr Jayalalitha organised in memory of their daughter Dr Neha (24) who died of cardiac arrest in Goa recently evoked a huge response, on the premises of a private hospital here on Monday.
Phani Kumar said between 2,500 and 3,000 patients from various parts of the district came to the camp and availed different medical services. He stated that the patients were given free medicines besides lunch. In all, 28 doctors from the town rendered their services to the needy.

The patients thanked Phani Kumar and Jayalalitha for conducting the camp and for providing drugs. On September 26, Neha, the only daughter of Phanikumar, a senior ENT surgeon, and Jayalalitha, gynaecologist, died of a heart attack while celebrating her birthday along with relatives and friends at a hotel in Goa.
