Hyderabad: The State government has permitted Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) to allow all affiliated medical colleges in Telangana to reopen from July 29 in a phased wise manner so that they can conduct practical and clinical postings of MBBS students.

Since the imposition of the lockdown, health sciences colleges in Telangana have been imparting medical education to MBBS student through online classes.

Only 50 per cent of students should be allotted practical classes and clinical postings for 15 days in a month by rotation and the principals have to take effective measures to complete vaccination of all the students, faculty and staff of the medical college, the Registrar, KNRUHS in a notification said.

The medical colleges must ensure that all appropriate measures have been taken to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and guidelines must be followed strictly while conducting classes and clinical postings.

The KNRUHS has directed the medical colleges to adopt all the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on preventive measures to contain spread of Covid-19 by the MOHFW and NMC.
