Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad (UoH), in collaboration with the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), World Green Army, National Service Scheme (NSS) and Student for Development, organised a mega plantation drive on the campus. The drive was taken up on the occasion of World Nature Conservation Day, and a total of 10,000 saplings were planted in different locations on the campus.
Speaking after planting a sapling, UoH Vice-Chancellor Prof BJ Rao observed that, whereas conservation was done naturally by the nature, human beings were now doing the conservation as they themselves have done the de-conservation. There is a need to restore the natural flora and fauna, he said, adding that naturalists should help restore and conserve them.
