Men outperform women in Telangana EdCET 2026 results, bag top 10 ranks

The TG EdCET 2026 results recorded a 96.95 per cent qualifying rate, with men securing all top 10 ranks despite women outnumbering them in registrations and attendance. Banothu Ajith Krishna topped the examination conducted for admission to BEd courses

Hyderabad: Men outperformed women in the Telangana Education Common Entrance Test (TG EdCET) 2026 results, bagging all the top 10 ranks.

Banothu Ajith Krishna of Bhadradri Kothagudem district topped the entrance test, which was conducted for admissions to two-year BEd courses. Similarly, Pothuganti Tharun Kumar of Suryapet and Nirati Uday Kumar Reddy of Mahabubnagar bagged second and third, respectively.


Results declared by TGCHE Chairman Prof V Balakista Reddy, along with Kakatiya University Vice Chancellor Prof K Pratap Reddy and TG EdCET 2026 convener Prof B Venkatram Reddy, have been made available on the website https://edcet.tgche.ac.in.

While more women than men applied and appeared for the TG EdCET 2026, men secured a high qualifying percentage. A total of 29,441 women registered, 24,482 appeared and 23,642 (96.57 per cent) qualified. As for men, 6,155 registered, 4,858 appeared, and 4,802 (98.85 per cent) qualified. Overall, 96.95 per cent out of 29,342 candidates who had appeared for the test were declared qualified.

Prof Balakista Reddy said it was interesting to note that while women dominated in most of the results, men secured a high qualifying percentage and secured top 10 ranks in TG EdCET 2026.

Prof Pratap Reddy said 7,460 out of 13,278 convener quota seats in 196 BEd colleges were filled during the academic year 2025-26.
