Mentally unstable woman raped by brother-in-law in Shamshabad

Hyderabad: A 20-year-old woman, who is mentally unstable, was allegedly raped by her brother-in-law in Shamshabad, police said on Wednesday.

The incident occurred when the woman was sleeping alone in the house and her mother and sister, both construction workers, had gone to work.

According to the police, the incident came to light only on Tuesday, when the woman fell ill and was taken to hospital.

She revealed to her mother what happened, after which they lodged a complaint. A case has been booked and is being investigated. Teams have been formed to nab the absconding suspect.
