Hyderabad: A local woman politician allegedly attacked a merchant from Begum Bazaar for keeping his shop open till night, even as the Merchant Association had decided to shut businesses in the evening, in view of the pandemic.
Sources said that the local leader on Tuesday night along with a group of supporters had gone to the Dal Mandi in Begum Bazaar market area and found few shops still open till 8 pm, against the decision taken by the Merchant Association to run businesses from 9 am to 5 pm.
Angered by this, the local leader and supporters picked up an argument with them and assaulted them. A video clip of the incident which was collected from the CCTV installed in the surroundings is making rounds on social media. A complaint was lodged with the Begum Bazaar police in this connection.
