Adilabad: The Mesrams celebrated Novang, or worshipping newly harvested grains, on the premises of Sri Nagoba temple at Keslapur village in Indervelli mandal on Friday.

The Mesrams from Indervelli and neighbouring villages gathered at the temple. They performed prayers and offered Naivedyam prepared with the grain to their deities as part of the celebrations. They said that they consume the produce only after offering it to the deity. They claimed that they had been practising the ritual to thank nature for providing food for decades.

Nagoba temple seer Mesram Venkat Rao, elders Badirao, priest Koserao, chief Dadi Rao, Chinnu Patel and former Keslapur Sarpanch Nagnath took part in the religious affair.
