Former Minister T Harish Rao is having dinner with residential hostel students in Siddipet on Thursday night.
Siddipet: Former Minister T Harish Rao, who made a surprise visit to the integrated residential hostel complex for boys in Siddipet, said mess bills remained pending for six months in residential schools across the State.
While having lunch with the inmates on Thursday, Rao said that the wardens were finding it difficult to feed the inmates as they were forced to borrow amounts. Rao said that the outsourcing staff working at the hostels were not paid their salaries for eight months. He demanded the release of washing and cosmetic charges to students immediately. When former minister P Sabita Indra Reddy planned a visit to residential hostels, police prevented them from visiting the residential schools, he said, adding that the government feared getting exposed. Despite Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy holding the Education and Welfare cabinet berths with him, he was ignoring the welfare of the students, he said.
