Hyderabad: The University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, has conferred autonomous status to Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT), Gandipet, for a period of 10 years with effect from the academic year 2021-22. The institution was conferred autonomous status based on a report submitted by the Inspection Committee, followed by approval by the UGC standing committee. The management, principal, staff and students of MGIT have expressed happiness over the UGC’s order.
