MGMH offering full-fledged health services to Covid-19 patients: Errabelli

Warangal Urban: MGM Hospital (MGMH) with 800 beds was offering full-fledged health services to covid-19 patients, Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao said on Wednesday.
Wearing a PPE kit, the Minister made a surprise inspection at the covid ward of the hospital here and inquired with patients about the treatment and facilities being provided to them. He asked them not to lose heart in the fight against Covid.
Dayakar Rao assured them that the State government was making all required arrangements to ensure quality treatment to Covid-19 patients. Besides MGMH, treatment was being extended at all government hospitals and those infected with Coronavirus need not go to private hospitals, Dayakar Rao said.
He asked the doctors to monitor the health status of the patients from time to time and better treatment should be provided as required to all the patients so as to avoid loss of lives. He enquired about stocks of medicines and oxygen reserves available at the hospital for the patients.
Later, speaking to the media, Dayakar Rao said that of the 800 beds available at the hospital, 650 were oxygen beds and currently 400 covid patients were being treated. Enough oxygen reserves were available at the hospital.
He felt the cause for covid deaths was people not going in for treatment till the last minute. The Minister spoke to Health Minister E Rajender regarding supply of Remdesivir injections.
Dayakar Rao said the State government was laying special focus on the health of the people even without the cooperation of the Central government. The Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao decided to provide free vaccination to all those above 18 years of age in the State, he added.
The Minister appreciated MGM Hospital Superintendent, Nagarjuna Reddy, doctors, para-medical and sanitation staff for their tireless work to provide treatment to corona patients.
