Micro artist Raghavendra Babu creates chalk miniatures; collected nearly 100 commemorative coins

K Raghavendra Babu, a micro artist from East Godavari, has created 200 miniature sculptures of iconic personalities using chalk. A Telugu Book of Records achiever, he is also a numismatist with a collection of nearly 100 commemorative coins.

Hyderabad: K Raghavendra Babu, a micro artist, has created miniature sculptures from chalk and won appreciation among Telugu people.

He earlier presented a miniature sculpture of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu when Naidu was an opposition leader in 2019. Raghavendra told ‘Telangana Today’ that Naidu appreciated his extraordinary talent and commented, “Keep it up”. Koduri Naga Surya Raghavendra Babu, an MBA student, achieved a record in the Telugu Book of Records in 2021 for a miniature sculpture made from chalk. He has also made 200 miniatures of Indian iconic personalities using chalk.

Raghavendra Babu is also a numismatist and has collected nearly 100 commemorative coins released by the Reserve Bank of India in the names of Indian leaders on different occasions, including birth and death anniversaries.

He also collected an ONGC commemorative coin dating back 50 years, which he described as the rarest coin in his collection.

He said he has commemorative coins featuring Mother Teresa, Jawaharlal Nehru and Dr Rajendra Prasad, among others.

The MBA graduate runs an NGO called “Abdul Kalam Seva Samithi” and is involved in social services.

Koduri Naga Surya Raghavendra Babu hails from the hamlet Teeparru in East Godavari district and said his dream is to become a politician in the future.
