Mild tension prevailed at Mangalhat on Thursday during a procession taken out in the old city.
Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed at Mangalhat on Thursday during a procession taken out in the old city. According to the police, a group of people on motorcycles, participating in a procession with flags, got into a dispute with local residents of Dhoolpet. In the scuffle, two people sustained injuries and were shifted to a hospital.
A video captured from a nearby building showed a group of young people throwing stones at a house while others were seen throwing stones at a procession.
Soon after the incident, the police reached the spot and blocked the road leading from Ghode- ki-Khabar to Jummerat Bazaar by placing barricades.
The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force was rushed to the spot. Security was tightened in and around Mangalhat following the incident. The police registered a case.
