Adilabad: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party’s district president, Farooq Ahmed, was booked for allegedly injuring three persons when he attacked them with his revolver and knife following some dispute at Thatiguda Colony here on Friday.

The injured were shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Adilabad, where their condition was said to be stable.

Adilabad II town police said Farooq Ahmed, a native of Adilabad town, opened fire in which Zameer, Mannan and his brother Motheshan belonging to Thatiguda Colony in the district headquarters, were injured.

Sources said Farooq resorted to firing and attacking the three with a sword as he nursed a grudge against them on a road in full public view after a heated argument. He has been absconding after the incident.

Police rushed to the spot and began a probe into the incident.
