Adilabad: Minimum temperatures of erstwhile Adilabad district plummeted to a drastic low on Friday, affecting normal life.
According to a bulletin available on a website of Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), while Arli (T) of Bheempur mandal recorded minimum temperature by 5.7 degrees centigrade, Adilabad district headquarters saw 7 degrees and Sirpur (U) of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district witnessed 6 degrees.
Several other parts of composite Adilabad district registered somewhere between 7 degrees and 9 degrees. Consequently, people, in particular, rural folks were forced to remain indoors. The elderly and children had to keep their bodies warm using woollen wear, blankets and making bonfires with the help of timber logs. Farmers had a tough day in taking agriculture activities.
On December 21, Sirpur (U) mandal ahd a minimum temperature of 3.8 degrees Celsius followed by Bela mandal of Adilabad which witnessed the minimum temperature by 3.8 degrees Celsius. Hilly areas and forest fringe villages had frosty weather conditions in the third week of December and first week of January.
