Minister Dayakar Rao urges SCs to utilise Dalit Bandhu scheme

Jangaon: To identify the people with enterprising skills under the Dalit Bandhu scheme, Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao participated in the Gram Sabhas organised at Theegaram and Banjara villages in his Palakurthy constituency on Friday. He appealed to the SCs to avail this golden opportunity to become successful entrepreneurs.
Speaking at these meetings, the Minister said that 20 people from Theegaram and 15 people from Banjara village would be selected for the Dalit Bandhu scheme, and appealed them to choose profitable ventures/units as each would get Rs 10 lakhs from the State government. He has directed the officials to ensure that the units would be grounded by March 7. He also added that the officials should take steps to aware the beneficiaries and provide required training for them to achieve the success in their new ventures.
“Meanwhile, 100 beneficiaries will be identified in the first phase in the constituency,” the Minister added. According to the officials sources, selections of the beneficiaries is going at brisk pace and a list would be submitted to the government by February 6. As a part of the selection process each mandal in Jangaon district had been allotted a district level officer to oversee the selection process under this ambitious scheme. Local people’s representatives and officials attended the meeting.
