Minister denies Rs 107 crore irregularities in Jagtial paddy purchase

SC, ST Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar asserted that no irregularities occurred in paddy procurement in Jagtial and pledged to resign if corruption charges were established.

Jagtial: Stating that no irregularity took place in the procurement of paddy in Jagtial, SC, ST Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar said he would resign from the cabinet post if irregularities were proved.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, the minister refuted the allegations made by the BRS leaders T Jeevan Reddy and Koppula Eashwar that Rs 107 crore corruption had taken place in the procurement of paddy in the district.


So far, 4.60 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been purchased from 80,000 farmers in 436 procurement centres. Out of 5.12 lakh metric tonnes of yield expected in this season, 5.08 lakh metric tonnes have arrived.
