Khammam: Continuing the distribution of Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubharak cheques on the second day Transport Minister, Puvvada Ajay Kumar handed over the cheques to beneficiaries in Khammam on Wednesday.
The Minister touring several municipal divisions on a motorbike distributed the cheques on Tuesday to many beneficiaries and handed over the cheques, a saree and fruits to the remaining families on Wednesday.
He laid the foundation stone for development works in CC road works in the 17th division. Later in the day, Ajay Kumar handed over Rs 3 lakh cheques and Rs 60,000 cash towards the expenses of electricity charges and police permissions for Ganesh pandals set up in Khammam city.
The financial assistance was extended to Stambhadri Utsava Samithi office bearers on behalf of Puvvada Foundation, for which the minister acts as the Chairman. Pandals registered with the Utsav Samithi would get the assistance.
The Utsava Samithi, executive chairman Gentela Vidyasagar thanked Minister Ajay Kumar for his support to the Ganesh Pandal organisers and for taking the lead in solving public problems.
The samithi general secretary Keesara Jaipal Reddy, convener Kannam Prasanna Krishna, secretary D Saikiran, treasurer Moolagundla Srihari and TRS corporator, K Murali were present.
