Khammam: Transport Minister P Ajay Kumar has contributed Rs 5 lakh for the reconstruction of the shopping complex at a Masjid in Khammam on Friday.
As part of road widening in the city, the shopping complex of Masjid-e-Mustafa located on Bonakal road was demolished sometime back. Ajay Kumar who was the MLA at that time assured the masjid committee members to contribute some money towards masjid reconstruction, if they supported the development works.
Keeping the promise the minister has handed over an amount of Rs 5 lakh from his own pocket to the masjid committee members and later participated in the Friday prayers. The committee members Abdul Rahman, Mohammed Ibrahim, Shaik Mohamood and others felicitated the minister and appreciated his generous act.
TRS city wing minority leader Mukhtar Shaik thanked Ajay Kumar for his contribution and said the party and its leaders have always supported the interests of minority sections. SUDA Chairman B Vijay Kumar and others were present.
