Hyderabad: Minister for Animal Husbandry and Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Saturday said the government would take necessary steps to support the Telugu film industry which is reeling under severe crisis amid the second wave of pandemic.
Representatives of the film industry met the Minister at his residence in West Marredpally and submitted a memorandum to him.
Hailing the government’s gesture of helping cinema workers with essentials last year during the first wave of pandemic, they thanked for the timely help that saved workers from getting affected after the shootings and film business were halted.
Srinivas Yadav appealed to everyone to cooperate with the government and said the Telangana government is implementing lockdown to curtail the spread of Covid-19. By following Covid protocol, wearing masks and sanitising at regular intervals, people can save themselves from getting affected, he said.
Later, the representatives urged the Minister to extend support to the workers who are dependent on the 24 crafts. They urged the government to take measures to set up special vaccine centres for cinema workers.
