Hyderabad: The Parliamentary Standing Committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs has appreciated various initiatives taken up by the Telangana Police Department after the State formation in 2014.
Senior police officers from Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu gave a power-point presentation on the reforms introduced in the police departments in their respective States.
The committee, headed by Anand Sharma and consisting of with 28 MPs, described the initiatives of Telangana as excellent. Director-General of Police M Mahendar Reddy, in a power-point presentation, explained in detail the various reforms introduced in the State.
Friendly-policing, using technology to control crime, integrated command and control centre coming up in Banjara Hills and recruitment of police personnel among other initiatives were explained.
