Hyderabad: In a gruesome incident, a minor boy who is a migrant worker reportedly killed an elderly woman and allegedly recorded a video of himself dancing in front of the corpse.

Though the incident is suspected to have occurred on April 11, it was reported on April 14, after the 17-year-old suspect shared the video with the victim’s relative in Bengaluru.

The victim was identified as Kamala Devi (70), a native of Rajasthan who had migrated to Hyderabad along with her husband about 30 years ago in search of livelihood and had been staying at Krishna Nagar in Kushaiguda.

As per available information, Kamala Devi had inherited a few shops from her husband, which earned a good income for the victim and her family. The suspect is learnt to have been working as a helper at one of her shops and also helped her with daily chores.

However, Kamala had been allegedly abusing him over trivial matters. Angered by this, on April 11 night around 11.30 pm, the suspect went to her house and reportedly attacked her with an iron rod after an argument. He further strangled her with a saree from the ceiling fan in the bedroom.

The suspect further recorded a selfie-video of himself dancing while the victim’s body was hanging from the iron rod. The incident came to light when the suspect himself called a relative of the victim who lives in Bengaluru and informed them of the killing on Sunday night.

On being alerted, the Kushaiguda police broke the door and found Kamala’s decomposed body. The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem. The case is under investigation and efforts are on to nab the suspect.
